Giving Season

If you’ve been here before, you know we love Piper’s school, so when fundraising season rolls around, my husband and I are delighted to help her collect donations to contribute to the school’s Annual Fund. In the past, soliciting financial support has felt uncomfortable, unnatural and a little ick. I’m fairly certain that my anxiety started in 5th grade when we were tasked with selling Christmas trees door-to-door in the neighborhood to support our school in Asheville, North Carolina. You don’t realize how many people are anti-Christmas until you’re knocking on doors asking folks if they want to buy a tree. To the grinches those who were so deeply offended by the solicitation, I am sorry (and I hope you’re not still mad at me, please, I’m 34 and not over it). Kids these days will never experience the horror of the door-to-door ask (unless they take up a job selling home security plans), and I’m truly thankful we get to spare Piper and Nash from the trauma. I suppose it’s one small perk of living in this 2023 digital age, even if everything else is totally whack. I digress…

So, it’s officially Giving Season! And while she’s not selling goods, Piper has been tasked with raising $1,000, and she’s halfway there (Whoa oh, livin’ on a prayer). Prior to supporting the school’s operating costs, a portion of the funds raised through the generosity of friends and family will honor those who have given their lives in service to our country. I love that the school is taking purposeful action to educate the next generation about the service and sacrifice of our military service members. Enough from me… Piper says it best.

Please prayerfully consider supporting Piper’s sweet school by making a donation to CCCS’s Annual Fund. To learn more and/or to give, click here. She’ll be sending handwritten ‘Thank You’ letters for your generosity, in cursive (because that’s just how they roll at Classical Christian schools).
